Ivana Houserova's spiritually symbolic pieces imitate the more natural pleasures in life and she clearly identifies them by their title: Miracle of Birth, Night Butterfly, and Flower. While the titles may sound generic, the pieces themselves are unique, bringing a new kind of enlightenment to their usual meaning. With Houserovas use of vibrant color, she reminds us that we cannot ignore these simply pleasures. Despite their rigid texture, it does not take away the smoothness each piece brings. The wave-like curves, symmetrical body, and overall femininity are even more striking when placed in front of light.
"I create simple, modest and harmonic shapes, having inner optic depth and secret. I am fascinated by structures which show, as well as in the nature, various changes of shapes and lights, evoking various feelings and memories. The inner optical space of the glass material talks to us in a specific way and attracts us into the inside action."
